Energetic funloving amstaff pup Gerrard & bff need good home in Manhattan, New York For Sale

A volunteer writes: Young Gerrard came to us with housemate Roxanne as their owner hit a big bump on the road. He is a good looking lad, healthy and well-nourished, full of energy and enthusiasm. He is quite ready for me, standing right behind his door, almost handing me his neck to leash him. Let's go have some fun. Gerrard is a strong dog who pulls on the leash. He eliminates as soon as we reach the yard. He is civil with the few dogs he met and does not respond when another pooch provokes him. He is all about play, play, play. He is a boisterous youngster who loves the ball and is rather single-minded about it. The world could collapse around him and Gerrard, a tennis ball in his mouth...would not even know. He likes to jump and run after it, catch it and then select a seat on the bench to savor it peacefully. Although Gerrard is totally in love with his toy, he does not guard it. He knows I have more than one ball in my bag. Gerrard does not really sit on command, at least for us here at the Manhattan Care Center. He is young and can be taught. He loves treats and enjoys a good head scratch. Gerrard is a handsome young man, friendly, sociable and quite boisterous, who needs an active owner or family who will provide enough exercise, stimulation and training. The result, I bet, will be a most awesome forever best friend

I would never visit the care center and pass on my friend Gerrard. I love to play ball with him and enjoy so much to see him happy, darting through the pen, a tennis ball in the mouth. He is quite energetic but loves to lay next to me and tease two balls at a time. He looks then so peaceful and dreamy - totally overpowered by the balls. Gerrard likes treats of course and will sometimes exchange his precious possessions(that he does not guard) for roastbeef. Gerrard would be such a wonderful companion to an active owner and with the warm days coming soon, they would have "such a ball!" running and playing in the sun. Gerrard is one good looking young guy who so wants to meet you and become your forever best friend.

From The ACC site: To help ensure successful adoptions, please fill out a pre-adoption application (http://www.nycacc.org/pdfs/adoptions/AdoptionApplication.pdf) and bring it with you when you come into the Care Center to adopt a pet. If you are coming from outside of the immediately area, it is strongly suggest that you first complete an application and email it to adoption @ nycacc.org -This will allow ACC to answer any questions and resolve any potential obstacles before you make the trip.
