A volunteer writes: She's gorgeous!!! But not just a pretty face. . ..a gorgeous personality, fun, playful, affectionate and friendly. Surrendered to our care by her family when they decided they no longer have time for her, we're told Lady L is housetrained, can be a little mouthy (no pressure) when playing, is energetic and affectionate. Lady L and I went out for a walk where she showed off her housetraining skills and nice leash manners. In the yard she chases a ball but doesn't retrieve, ignores other dogs passing our pen, shows off her sit and takes treats gently. Joining me on the bench for some kisses, Lady L happily drapes herself over my lap for some quality cuddle time. Beautifully groomed, social and friendly, Lady L would like to meet an active person or family for exercise, love and cuddles. She kissed the intake staff during the process and lay down froggy style for her intake picture all of which is pretty impressive! She's young, relaxed and friendly looking for her soul mate. Lorax is a Dr. Seuss children's book and one of the characters says: "I know it may seem small and insignificant, but it's not about what it is, it's about what it can become". We are looking forward to what it can become for our Lady. . ..a forever home with an adoring family. Ask to meet her when you visit.
A volunteer updates: Need to light up your room? Lady Lorax's megawatt smile will do just that! She has that amazing ear to ear smile that staffie's are known for, and she loves to use it! I knew Lady Lorax when she was our guest the first time, cheered when she was adopted, and am now saddened to see her back. Brought back for "no time", we know that Lady Lorax has lived with children but can play a bit rough for the little ones. She's been gorgeously taken care of, her coat clean and groomed, her weight solid, and when she wiggles knowing she's going for a walk, it's a sight to see! She pulls on the leash at first -- excitement at going out and her need to go potty, and once her business is done her leash manners are lovely. She sits when asked, takes treats gently, loves to snuggle and her tail never stops wagging. Joining me on the park bench for a cuddle fest, we were so engaged in each other one passerby yelled out, "get a room"!!! Funny man! Our girl would be voted "Miss Personality" if we were in school and indeed, she has an effervescent, outgoing personality. Looking for her new family, she's ready to snuggle, play and love and she does it all with enthusiasm! Come meet her today.
A staff member writes: Let me jump on the LL bandwagon here and tell you how hot I felt walking down the street with this silver streak girl who has a perfectly fit body and an open, friendly face. She was easy to walk on a leash, very receptive to requests to slow down or speed up (when she was investigating some smell ad infinitum). She hadn't been walked in quite a few hours when I took her to the backyard for a little playtime. Amazingly, she "held it" until after we played and we went out to the street. It was only there that she did her business. Talk about housebroken! She's a gorgeous girl and, although I am not sure she is fond of other dogs, she seems to give them a warning to back off without needing to "get into it." I can't wait to spend more time with her. But if you come get her before that time, that would be even better.
